Dr. Stephens is a graduate of Illinois School of Professional Psychology where she obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology. She completed her masters at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. She has over 13 years of experience assisting children, teens, young adults, adults, and couples, improve their life. In her internships and work, Dr. Stephens facilitated groups addressing trauma, ADHD, social skills, parenting skills, teen developmental concerns, psychoeducation, human trafficking creative arts, and caregiver support.
Dr. Stephens utilizes a holistic approach to therapy while implementing evidenced based interventions (i.e., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Systems) and expressive arts. By working in private practice, community mental health and the school system, she gained a better understanding of the challenges clients face personally; therefore, she is a strong advocate for empowering her clients through psychoeducation and awareness of treatment options.
